I just let the drums only track run and shoot several takes. This way, I don’t need to start and stop recording. I always, without exception, add all other instrumentation after the recording session. In fact, it’s the only way that I practice and shoot video. This is extremely helpful when working out a particular passage or lick. The group that introduced their music to a wider audience during the 80s Rockabilly revival were Stray Cats. The Yardbirds, as well as Aerosmith, have recorded rockin’ versions of ‘Train Kept-A-Rollin’. In those three short months, they recorded what are still regarded today as some the most influential Rockabilly music ever produced. The first sessions they recorded were at Pythian Temple in New York City, the second group of sessions were recorded in July of 1956 in Nashville.
